In this epic collection of paper plate crafts, you’ll find fun and easy craft ideas for every letter of the alphabet.
If you’ve come looking for paper plate craft ideas or alphabet crafts for toddlers, preschoolers and elementary school kids, you’ve just hit pay dirt.
It’s taken us a LONG time to complete our A-Z paper plate craft series. But we’ve done it!
We have at least one fun and easy paper plate craft for every letter of the alphabet, and for some letters, we have several craft ideas.
If you’ve been following us for a while, you’ve probably heard me talking about this A-to-Z series for months.
It all started a year and a half ago. One afternoon Sophie and I were sitting under the maple tree in the backyard, crafting with paper plates. As we crafted, we reminisced about all of the things we’ve made with paper plates during her years here in my home daycare. As we were rhyming them off, I thought: holy moly, we’ve made a lot of paper plate crafts over the years.
Our goal: a craft for every letter of the alphabet
I got thinking it would be fun to add to our collection until we had at least one paper plate craft for each letter of the alphabet. And that’s how the idea for our A-to-Z paper plate craft collection was born.
To organize this mission, Sophie and I made a master-list of crafts that we could make with paper plates. We listed the letters of the alphabet down the left-hand side of a piece of paper. Then beside each letter, we wrote down any paper plate crafts we’d made beginning with that letter. If we’d never made a craft for that letter, we left the space blank.
Over the next year and a half, the daycare kids and I would frequently turned to our master-list to brainstorm ideas for one of the missing letters.
Some of the letters were very challenging!. It took us forever to think of a really good paper plate craft for the letters I and Q. There are lots of things that start with those letters, but not many that you can make out of a paper plate! I think you’ll love what we came up with.
The letters X, Y and Z were challenging too, but we were able to think up some great crafts for those letters too! So, no matter what letter you’re focusing on with your toddlers or preschoolers, we have a paper craft to match it!
I hope you love this A-Z paper plate craft collection as much as we do. We had such a working on it. It was fun to have a series on the go for so long.

Best paper plates for crafting for crafting:
We love these thin, ribbed paper plates. They’re lightweight and easy for kids to cut with scissors. The textured edge adds interest to certain crafts.
We also love these thick sturdy paper plates. They’re great when you need a paper plate without the rippled edge.
