Kids can make this mama and baby bird and nest craft with a paper plate, tissue paper and cupcake liners. It’s a cute craft for spring, or for to accompany a bird lesson for toddlers and preschoolers.
Yay! Another terrific paper plate craft in our A-Z paper plate crafts series!
My toddlers and preschoolers have been really enjoying observing all the activity that goes on in the robin’s nest on our back deck, and we’ve been doing lots of bird crafts to further our learning.
Earlier this week, we made an easy robin craft and a paper plate birds nest, and we’ve re-visited some of our favourite bird crafts from earlier years.
Today to honour our Mama and baby birds, we made this simple mama and baby bird craft using a paper plate, cupcake liners and tissue paper.
This easy craft incorporates some simple but fun elements that young children will enjoy: painting, folding, gluing, and of course, crumpling tissue paper, which is always a favourite activity among my youngest crafters.
If you’re doing a bird unit with your toddlers and preschoolers, or if you simply want an easy bird craft to do with your little ones, give this one a try!
