Easy Homemade Soup Recipes
Butternut Squash Soup – When it comes to homemade soup, it doesn’t get much easier than this. This this butternut squash and potato soup is one of the first homemade soup recipes I ever made back when I was first married.
It’s so delicious and easy, I’ve been making it regularly for over 20 years now. It’s so rich and creamy and flavourful, and because it’s pureed smooth, it’s a hit with even the sickest eaters.
My go-to side dish for this soup is always my honey-oatmeal bread. The two pair up wonderfully and make the perfect hearty dinner in fall or winter.
Best Homemade Tomato Soup – you may have seen this amazing soup recipe in your travels around the internet. My tomato soup recipe is pretty much in a “viral state” all year long in my blog; particularly in summer and fall when garden fresh tomatoes are at their peak.
This recipe makes the absolute BEST homemade tomato soup ever, and it’s so easy! I can pretty much guarantee you’ll love it.
This Lentil, Potato and Bacon Soup is another one of my family’s absolute favourites. It’s so easy to make, and it’s a really heart soup that you can serve as a meal with bread or a salad.
Zuppa Toscana – Aside from my homemade tomato soup (above), this Olive Garden Copycat Zuppa Toscana is my family’s all-time favourite homemade soup.
It’s chock full of chunky potatoes, bacon, sausage and fresh kale. It’s super-easy to make, and if you’ve ever had the Olive Garden’s Zuppa, you’ll agree that this homemade version is a dead-ringer. In fact, some say this Zuppa Toscana tastes even better than the Olive Garden’s.
This soup wouldn’t be complete without my homemade dinner rolls served up on the side.
Hearty Beef and Barley Soup – this soup recipe makes an absolutely delicious, hearty soup, and it’s probably my favourite soup to make because the recipe is so easy.
This soup is really thick and hearty, chock-full of all kinds of good stuff. It’s almost more like a stew than a soup.
The nice thing about this soup recipe is that you can cook it on the stove-top, or you can toss everything into the slow-cooker, and let it take care of itself.
Slow Cooker Chicken Salsa Soup – I always turn to this easy soup recipe when we’re planning a day outdoors in the wintertime.
Just pop all the ingredients into the slow cooker (or crock pot), and when you come home, dinner is ready and waiting for you.
Potato, Leek and Ham Soup – This easy soup recipe cooks up really quickly and puts a nice spin on the traditional potato soup. It takes very little effort to make, and it’s ready to serve in about a half hour. My family loves it, and it’s always a hit with the kids in my daycare.
Homemade Gazpacho – I’m adding my homemade gazpacho recipe to this collection because, even though it isn’t a traditional hot soup, it’s a ridiculously easy soup recipe, and it tastes amazing on a hot summer day. It’s another great soup to make when you have loads of fresh tomatoes in your garden. You can serve it as an appetizer or as a meal, but I love to sip it cold right from the glass on a sweltering day.
If you’re looking for a fantastic side to serve with your homemade soup, try my bread machine dinner rolls or my bread-machine honey-oat bread. They’re both super-easyto make, and SO delicious!
Check back often! I’ll be adding more easy soup recipes to this collection!
