This no-yeast pizza dough is a life-saver when you want to make homemade pizza but you don’t have any yeast. Just stir the ingredients and knead for 2-3 minutes. It’s perfect for one family-size pizza or 6 mini pizzas for the kids.
The other day I shared the recipe for my no-knead, no-rise pizza crust, and heard back from several people saying they couldn’t make it because they didn’t have any yeast.
Knowing that yeast can be hard to get right now, I decided to tweak the recipe to see if this dough could be made without it.
I’m happy to report that it can be!
Baking Powder is a Substitute for Yeast!
After doing some googling, I learned that baking powder is a “dry chemical leavening agent”, and can be used as a substitute for yeast when making pizza crust. I decided to try it out with my no-knead pizza dough recipe, and I made these mini pizzas for my family.
We loved them so much, we made them again the very next night!
I can’t tell you how happy I am to know we can still have homemade pizza even if my yeast supply runs out!

Just a little correction 🙂
In the first instructions, you’ve typed:
“For large pizza, bake for 15-20 mins”
In the 2nd part:
“For large pizza, bake for 15-29 mins” 😛
Jackie Currie
Thanks for the heads up! I’ve just made the correction!

I would like to try these for supper Is there some way I could make them during the day tho ahead of time and re frigerate or what do you suggest?
Jackie Currie
Because it’s such a quick recipe to make just before eating, I’ve never made the dough or prepared the pizzas ahead of time, Rachelle. Please let me know if you tried it, and how it worked out.
Chris
Has anyone tried gluten free flour?

. I was pretty skeptical about using baking powder instead of yeast but my yeast was dead and I NEEDED pizza. This is really amazing. Thank you! No more yeast for me.
