These tiny pom pom snowman ornaments are super-cute and fun to make with small white pom poms, a button, and a piece of yarn. They’re perfect little ornaments for decorating a miniature Christmas tree, or make a whole bunch to give as gift-toppers or to put on your big Christmas tree.

These itty-bitty pom pom snowmen are so simple, but so sweet. They were inspired by a tiny felted snowman ornament that a friend brought back from Scotland for me a few years ago (see photo below).
I’ve always thought it would be a fun to replicate that ornament (minus the teensy face and buttons), using pom poms for the snowman’s body and a button for the hat.
I gave it a go the other day, and made two tiny pom pom snowmen ornaments. The results were terrific, and they it only took a few minutes to make them.
A note about the buttons:
If you’re using a shank button for your snowman’s hat, it will have a protrusion with a hole on the back of the button. This makes it really easy to thread the ornament and hang it when you’ve finished making it.
If you’re using a flat button with holes in the button itself, be sure to thread the button with your hanging thread before you glue it to the pom pom.
These snowmen are really quick and easy for older kids (or adults) to make. They take less than 10 minutes per snowman but they do require well-developed fine motor skills because of their size.
