Put together a child’s sewing basket for fun activity for the playroom or to give as a homemade gift for a child.
The supplies in this basket are great for early sewing activities that help develop kids fine motor skills. They’ll also foster creativity and hopefully, a life-long love of old-fashioned fibre crafts.
Pop over to CBC Parents to see how we put together this child’s sewing basket using simple materials that you may already have at home.
I think this would make the perfect gift for any toddler or preschooler!

This looks like so much fun! I know my 3yo daughter would love it! Gonna have to try this one for sure!

Sewing is one of the most favorite activities with our kids in our camp. We do simple sewing with large holes and large needles but we find that it is very difficult for the 3-4 yr old kids to do it. The older 4’s and above can handle it. This summer we are doing embroidery as well but, are only doing that with the 5 yr olds

The CBC link above didn’t take me to the page with the sewing basket. Would love to see a listing of what all is in the basket, please update the link or give is a listing of your own. Thanks.

Oops! Let me fix that for you, Nichole. CBC had their website redesigned. I was told some of my old links to their site might not work until they updated everything. I’ll get on that now.

You should be good to go now, Nichole. 🙂 Thanks for the heads up.
