Kids can make this colourful yarn rainbow wall hanging for St. Patrick’s Day or any day to add a cheerful pop of colour to a bedroom, playroom or classroom. All it takes is a stick, some yarn and a few cotton makeup pads. Cutting, measuring and tying skills required.
For ages now, I’ve admired those boho-inspired macrame wall-hangings that have taken Pinterest by storm.

I’ve always thought it would be fun to make one with the hooligans, but… I don’t know how to macrame, sooooo…. there’s that. Ha!
I’m pretty creative when it comes to modifying a grown-up craft for my daycare kids to make though, so that’s exactly what I’ve done with this rainbow yarn wall hanging.

Measure, cut and tie… that’s it!
Instead of macrame, we’ve just measured some long lengths of yarn in every colour of the rainbow, bundled the colours together, and tied them to a stick. Then we added a little cotton cloud, and voila….
A gorgeous piece of rainbow yarn art to hang on the wall of our playroom.
Every time it catches my eye, I’m delighted by how bright and cheerful it looks.
