If you’re looking for a unique and fun fall activity for the backyard, have a look at the leaf slide we made the other day!
This is such a fun way to use your fall leaves for play before you rake them all up. This activity got the hooligans moving around and keeping warm on a cool day, and building the slide AND playing on provided lots of exercise, fresh air and gross motor activity.
Aside from a couple of chilly days, for the most part, our November has been warm and sunny. Almost Spring-like some days. It’s been wonderful, and we really made the most of our fall leaves this year. First we made a leaf maze, and then we made our roadways in the leaves, which was a huge hit! The Hooligans played it those for a week.
When we had thoroughly exhausted our roadways, we raked them all up and made this leaf slide. The Hooligans helped me to rake the leaves into a pile at the bottom of the slide, and of course, that was lots of fun.
Then the girls had the idea to put the leaves on the slide.
Wheeeeee!
Even the baby thought it looked like a lot of fun.
It was our final hoorah, and our leaf slide allowed us to enjoy our leaves one last time.
Happy Fall!

They sure were, Ann. We really and truly made good use of those leaves this year. I’m glad we did while we could, because we woke up to a layer of snow this morning!

I love the photos & am slightly jealous of your lovely crispy leaves as ours are very wet & soggy! Kierna

Your pictures are always so full of joy!! It looks like the Hooligans had a blast with the leaf slide. I wish we had enough leaves to do this.

I love your leaf slide, such a good old fashioned use of a lovely collection of Autumn leaves. Do please join me on Country Kids too. Linky is every Sat to Thursday. I posted about our leaf collecting and fun a fortnight ago, but never thought of a leaf slide. Next year!

So awesome! I wish we got enough leaves to do this. 🙂

This brings back so many happy memories or my childhood playing with my brother in the fall leaves. Now that we’ve just started our family I look forward to making those same memories with our kids.
