potato-head play-dough

It was rather chilly here this morning, and we needed something to do inside for an hour or so while the temps warmed up.

I pulled out the fall coloured play-dough that we made last week, only to find that the orange was already a bit stiff and dry, and the brown was a little too gooey.  I combined the two of them which remedied the problem, and came up with a colour that was roughly the same colour as Mr. Potato-Head, which made me think: POTATO HEAD PLAY-DOH!

I can’t believe I hadn’t thought to do this before.

The Hooligans had a great time with it, and by the time we’d cleaned up, and had our snack, the sun was shining, so we headed outside to play with the activity that I’d planned for this morning.

Stay-tuned for that post! :)

  1. ok ok, so now that I see the whole post it does not look like what i thought it did! I have similar things called ‘crazy creatures’ that are ears, eyes, legs, arms etc. that are great to add to the dough. You know I haven’t seen a Mr Potato head for years over here.

    • Oh Kierna, I still giggle whenever I look at the original pic that I posted. I see it in a whole different light now. lol Thanks for the laughs yesterday!

  2. I have been teaching preschool for over 18 years and I can’t even believe I have NEVER done this!!!! Thank you for sharing… I LOVE when I find new ideas… even when the make me say “Duh…why didn’t I think of that?” lol
