With scraps of yarn and sticks from the garden, kids can make this cheery and colourful stick-star garden mobile to hang in your backyard this summer.
Now that the warm weather has arrived, we’re back to crafting and creating outdoors again.
The best part? Finding items around the yard and garden to make our projects with. Crafting with sticks is one of our easy go-to activities.
The other day, because we needed to replace the rainbow wind chimes we’ve had hanging in the tree for years, we went on a stick hunt in the backyard, and collected enough to make this colourful stick-star garden mobile.
It was really fun and easy to make, and a great work-out for the kids fine-motor and co-ordination skills.
It looks so pretty hanging in our play area, but it would be great to hang on a porch or patio too!

This is going to be fun to craft! You have me intrigued about the rainbow chimes you are replacing! Any chance you crafted those? And if you did, would you please show us how to make that?
Thank you!

You bet! I just added the link to the rainbow chimes, Beth. In the stick-star post, the words “the rainbow wind-chimes” will now take you to the instructions for them. 🙂 So glad you’re enjoying my posts!
