Make the most adorable Easter chick using cast off materials you already have at home!
I’m not kidding. This CD chick craft is one of the most adorable Easter crafts we’ve ever made. I mean, look at him, all yellow and round and fluffy… and those eyes… My goodness. We were beside ourselves today when this simple craft idea turned out to be this cute.

Our chick is super-easy to make. One of my preschoolers made this one today, but a toddler could easily handle all of the simple steps in this craft.
To make our CD chick, you’ll need:
- old, scratched CD
- tissue paper cut into 2 inch squares
- yellow acrylic craft paint
- googly eyes
- craft feathers
- orange paper
- glue
- paintbrush
- string or fishing line for hanging (optional)
We started by painting the cd yellow. I gave it a blast with a hairdryer to dry the paint quickly.
A second coat was necessary for good coverage.
With the paint dry, have your child coat the front with white glue.
Then crumple up the squares of tissue paper, and stick them all over the front of the cd.
Add a couple of eyes and a beak, and…. altogether now… AWWWWW!
Poke a bit of fishing line through the centre hole, so you can hang your cd chick if you wish.
Isn’t he just too cute? Want to see something just as cute? Maybe even CUTER? Check out the CD Bunny craft we made too!
