Small worlds are simple set up, and you’ll probably have as much fun creating one as your child does.
They’re easy to make using items that you already have around your home. Simply find a container, and fill it with a base material such as water, dirt, sand or rice and…

This is one of those saucers from the dollar store, meant to go underneath a potted plant.



Add a small basin of water for a pond.
Raid the toy-box for small animals and equipment (Lego and Imaginext pieces work well).
Stepping stones and moss are must-haves…and voila. 
I painted up a Main Street for Polly Pocket and her friends, and the hooligans love it.
I drew it all out with Sharpies one night, and Andrew coloured it for me.
Looks like all Looks like all that shopping wore Polly right out!
