Fall Sensory Play

I made our Autumn Sensory bin this weekend, and set it out today for the Hooligans to dig into.  To say it was a hit would be an understatement.

They LOVED it!

I really love these sensory bins! But what do you do with the stuff after you’re done using the bin?

Most of the time, it’s just stuff I’ve pulled out from around the house. I.e. the candles and decorative balls would be something I’d have tucked away to decorate the Thanksgiving table with. The apples are xmas tree ornaments. I very rarely have to buy anything to put in the bins. I just go through the toy buckets, craft supplies, kitchen cupboards, seasonal decorations etc., looking for neat items, so when we’re done, it all just gets put back where it belongs. As for the “filler” (the beans, or pasta, or popcorn kernels: whatever I’ve used for the “base”), it goes into a large zip-bag to be used for another sensory bin in the future.
Some materials i.e. the butterflies, the pinecones, buttons, will just go into our craft supplies for future arts and crafts. That’s the great thing about these bins. You can just use things that are already around the house, and put them back when you’re done. That way there’s minimal waste/cost with them. :) Glad you like them! Are you going to make some?

I am going to make one for my 25 moths old son. Let see what happen.
    Again, Thanks for sharing
