Ahhhh…. I do love my Wednesdays. I don’t have the Hooligans on Wednesdays – they’re all either at home with one of their parents, with a grandparent, or enrolled in a different program on this day so it’s the one day a week that I’m in my house all by myself! Not that it ever really seems like a day “off”; I usually spend the better part of the day cleaning and tidying up around the house, cutting the grass, running errands and preparing dinner for my family before I head out for my weekly evening of golfing with the gals.
At the moment, however, the sun is shining, the birds are singing, the house is silent and the coffee is hot. What more could a girl ask for? I mean really… could it get any better?
And now, without further ado, I bring to you the Wednesday Weekly Wrap-Up:
The temperatures have been gorgeous again this past week and it’s been perfect for these wet and watery activities:
and one this one, which doesn’t involve water, but it’s wonderful if you’re heading out for a walk in nature or just around the neighbourhood:
The next photo is from a visit that we had yesterday. The Glittering Muffins clan stopped in! Valerie and Alex are the parents of Nico, and together, they blog together about the adventures and activities of their son and their family. You’ll find their blog here.
They along with Alex’s parents spent the morning with us, and despite the down-pour and the soggy start to the morning, Nico and the Hooligans had a great time together, running around the yard, and playing in the playhouse and the sandbox. We finished up the morning in the playroom while waiting for Nico’s rain-soaked clothes to come out of the dryer (did I mention that it was a bit soggy here yesterday?)
It was wonderful to spend some time with my fellow bloggers, and great to meet Nico after reading so much about him on their blog. Valerie showed me several activity-sets that she’s made for Nico and I can’t wait to share them with you once she’s posted them on her blog!
The rain did stop mid-morning, and Alex took many pictures of the children playing together. Here’s one of the group before we said our good-byes.
As soon as this photo was snapped, Nico sneezed, lost his balance and stepped back into the pond! Hee-hee! No worries, it was the shallow end. Good thing we’d put those other pants in the dryer!
Note the beautiful dress that Miss Mess is wearing in the photo. It’s actually the slip that I wore under my wedding dress, and I’ve shortened it for “dress-up” play. Last Friday, Miss Mess asked if she could borrow it for the weekend, so I emailed Mom to explain why it was in her backpack. She wrote back saying “Thank you for letting us borrow that gorgeous (hardy-har) dress. She insisted on wearing it shopping at the Farmer’s Market on Saturday!!” Hee-hee!!
And that’s the weekly wrap-up! Have a great day! I’m off now to get some “work” done around here.
Oh! And just a note about last week’s Wednesday Wrap-Up. I realized this morning, that hadn’t included links with the photos, so I’ve edited the post and the links are there now, to take you to the posts.
